1641 Depositions Project

This 3 year project aims to transcribe and digitise the Depositions comprising 3,500+ depositions, examinations and associated materials, located in the Library of Trinity College Dublin, in which Protestant men and women of all classes told of their experiences following the outbreak of the rebellion by the Catholic Irish in October, 1641.

A Calendar of Irish Chancery Letters, c. 1244-1509

The original rolls of the Irish chancery were destroyed in 1922. CIRCLE provides a reconstruction of these invaluable record. It brings together all known letters enrolled on the Irish chancery rolls during the Middle Ages (1244–1509) using copies, transcripts and calendars ranging in date from the fourteenth to nineteenth centuries. The website also includes sample images of original Mss.

A Digital Edition of Táin Bó Fliodhaise

A digital edition of the Ulster Cycle tale entitled Táin Bó Fliodhaise is being be produced, consisting of a critical edition divided into segments, with corresponding diplomatic readings of the three manuscripts, a translation, notes, and indexes. Digital manuscript images also correspond to each segment. XML is being used to encode the manuscripts and to produce the ‘stacked’ edition.

A Digital Edition of the Alcalá Account Book

This project focused on the creation of a digital edition of the 17th c. Alcalá Account Book, from the Irish College of Alcalá de Henares, Spain. We have provided an online, interactive, full-text, searchable version of the manuscript, along with its transcription (Spanish), translation (English) and preservation quality images.

Act of Union Virtual Library

The Virtual Library is a unique collection of pamphlets, newspapers, parliamentary papers & manuscript material contemporary with the 1800 Act of Union between Ireland and Britain. The searchable bibliography results display individual images that can be browsed by turning the pages of each virtual book or document. A free text search is provided for the pamphlets and parliamentary papers.

Ainm.ie Irish-language biography project

An Irish-language biography project developed by Fiontar, DCU, with Cló Iar-Chonnachta, and Diarmuid Breathnach and Máire Ní Mhurchú, original authors. The Dept. of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs is funding the initial strand to digitize and publish online nine volumes of Irish biographies (1986-2007). A valuable original study comprising biographies of Irish men and women, 1560-2006.

Amharc Éireann News Reel Project

This project - a collaboration between An Foras Feasa, the Irish Film Archive, Gael Linn’s Amharc Éireann collection and Boston College – builds a wiki-based collaborative learning environment around the Amharc Éireann collection (1955-1964). The Amharc Éireann news reels provide a vivid window into the development of modern Ireland.

Archive of Celtic-Latin Literature

ACLL is in construction as a full-text, searchable database of the Latin literature written by individuals in and from the Celtic-speaking periphery of Europe (Ireland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, Scotland and the Isle of Man) in roughly the period 400-1200 C.E. The corpus consists of about 1300 separate texts, varying from fragmentary inscriptions to learned treatises hundreds of pages long.

Ars Apodemica Online

Creating a searchable bibliographic and content description database of early modern "travel advice" (ars apodemica) literature, and digitize in searchable full text format documents belonging to this group.

Art College Student Registers

The Art College Student Registers comprise 150 ledgers spanning the period 1877-1986. Each page of the ledgers has been digitally scanned and the individual names of students, and the academic year of enrollment have been indexed and are available as a searchable database. Approximately 20,000 named individuals have been recorded, providing a unique record of Irish artists and designers.

ArtLog

ArtLog is a resource to facilitate artists to document their artistic process and to record their experiential journey of conceptual enquiry. It is an electronic archive of artistic process that will accrue value over time. The project is based at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakkerig, Co. Monaghan.

Christ on the Cross: Textual and Material Representations of the Passion in Medieval Ireland (800-1200)

'Christ on the cross' is a multidisciplinary project that includes amongst its ambitions the creation of a database detailing all the images of the Passion surviving from Ireland 800-1200, linked to the texts in which they are described.

Conflict Archive on the INternet

The CAIN Web site provides information and source material on 'the Troubles' and politics in Northern Ireland from 1968 to the present. There is also information on Northern Ireland society.

Corpus of Electronic Texts

CELT brings the wealth of Irish literary and historical culture to the Internet. By May 2012, it has a searchable online textbase of 15 million words, in Irish, English, Latin and other languages, encoded in TEI-conformant XML, in over 1250 contemporary and historical documents from many areas, including literature and the other arts.
