Christ on the Cross: Textual and Material Representations of the Passion in Medieval Ireland (800-1200)

'Christ on the cross' is a multidisciplinary project that includes amongst its ambitions the creation of a database detailing all the images of the Passion surviving from Ireland 800-1200, linked to the texts in which they are described.

National Irish Visual Arts Library Visual Research and Digital Archiving Project

The National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL) was formally established in 1997 to document all aspects of visual art and design in Ireland. The current project aims to improve access to the material by providing cross-searchable finding aids to the special collections online using EAD, and by digitising selected material. NIVAL is jointly funded by NCAD and the Arts Council.

Seamus Heaney Centre Digital Archive

The SHCDA records, collates and preserves public poetry performances and is administered by the Special Collections Department of Queen’s University Belfast University. The aim is to provide an easily managed, searchable database that generates original research. Compiled metadata enables detailed Track File pages, links to related materials, and searches within pre-assigned browse categories.

Thomas Moore Hypermedia Archive

The aim of this project is to collect the complete poetical, musical and prose works of Thomas Moore (1779-1852) in the form of an hypermedia archive, publishable in pilot form on the Web. Like a scholarly printed edition the archive will establish reliable texts and annotation based on principles of scholarly editing, but it will also provide a rich network of interconnected electronic materials.

Wordloca: Reading Old English

An online Old English project to motivate students by providing attractive and user-friendly resources to inspire a creative and fulfilling engagement with language learning. It exploits the potential within digital media to bring together textual, material and audio-visual stimuli on a single page and to create networks and learning communities between and within the institutions involved.
