Irish confraternities, 1775-1965

This project examines the significant contribution of parish confraternities and associations to the social, cultural and religious identity and history of modern Ireland. In undertaking a study of modern associationalism at parish level down to the 1960s, the dynamic relationship between innovation and tradition will be explored in its many manifestations.

Irish Stone Axe Project

The Irish Stone Axe Project (ISAP) was established in 1990 to collect and investigate contextual, morphological and petrological information on all known Irish stone axes. The database is the basis for further research on different aspects of the production, distribution and deposition of Irish stone axes. Current work focuses on preparing the database for online implementation.

Placenames Database of Ireland (logainm.ie)

Logainm.ie provides the official Irish-language names of almost 100,000 Irish places, as well as supplementary material such as sound files, background information notes, and educational resources. It is being developed by Fiontar, Dublin City University, in collaboration with the Placenames Branch of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht
